It started with rebuilding homes in New Orleans
Joe grew up in Winchester, spending weekends pulling up floors and hanging drywall with his dad and his grandfather. Caroline grew up in Richmond and studied Interior Design at VCU.
They met the summer after Hurricane Katrina, rebuilding flooded houses in New Orleans. Hot, filthy work, and they both loved it.
Joe spent the next years as a home inspector, crawling through other people’s attics and learning where houses hide their problems. Caroline designed homes and hotels. Then they came back to Winchester, began their work at Sidney, and bought a fixer upper for themselves.

We start with the house you already have. The bump in the hallway, the window you love, the cabinet you keep hitting your head on. Then we design around it.
A designer at the table
Caroline holds a degree in Interior Design from VCU. She and our design team sit down with you before anyone swings a hammer, and you pick finishes with the samples in your hand.
One team, start to finish
Your project manager runs the job, our office keeps the schedule and the paperwork straight, and Joe and Caroline stay involved from the first meeting to the final walkthrough.
Rooted in the community
Giving back matters to us. We support South End Fire Company, our neighbor on Loudoun Street, and other local causes, because a strong community is the best foundation there is. We moved downtown on purpose.

A small team, and most of them live right here in the Valley. You will learn their names, because they are the ones at your house.
Proud to call Winchester home
Our showroom and offices at 603 S Loudoun St sit in the heart of the historic district, next to the local businesses that make downtown what it is. We moved the showroom downtown on purpose.
We used to be out on Jubal Early, next to the Starbucks and the Best Buy. We moved to Loudoun Street because we would rather be downtown, next to Roma and the rest of Loudoun Street, than next to a parking lot.
Along the way we picked up Best of Houzz for service in 2015 and 2017, joined the National Association of Home Builders, and got licensed as a Class A contractor in Virginia.
Giving back is part of how we do business. We support South End Fire Company, our next door neighbor, and other local causes, because strong foundations are not only the ones under a house.
We would rather do fewer houses and have people call us back for the next room.
